Renee Lee Magrini, of Dayton, NV peacefully left us on Thursday morning, December 8th, 2016 at the young age of 57. Renee, the oldest of three daughters of Sandra and Paul Magrini, was born in Youngstown, OH and moved to Reno

with her family in 1978. She passed away while surrounded by family in Salt Lake City, UT after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Renee began her career as a teacher at Marshall University, after graduating from UNR with her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. She then took a position at Western Nevada Community College, where she has been for over 20 years. She had a passion for teaching biology, microbiology, and chemistry, and also taught a number of other courses. She always felt hopeful that she had inspired many of her students who went on to become nurses, and later helped to take care of her during her battle.

Renee had an intense passion for teaching, cooking and baking, her specialties were pies, quiches and soups, and playing with her grandnieces.

Renee absolutely adored animals, specifically dogs, and spent many hours volunteering for the Humane Society and SPCA.

Renee is survived by her mother, Sandra; her boyfriend, Ray; her sisters, Michelle and husband Jeff, Cynthia and husband Patrick; her nephew, David and wife Janette; her niece, Alexandra and husband Jordan; and her grandnieces, Arianna and Nia. She is also survived by her loving pugs.

She will be greatly missed by family, friends, students and co-workers.

A viewing will be held Saturday December 17th from 9am to noon at Masonic Memorial Gardens: 437 Stoker Ave. Reno, NV 89503.

In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in her name to the Nevada Humane Society, the SPCA, or the American Cancer Society.
