Death of a dog involving Lyon County Commissioner under investigation

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a discharged firearm which included the death of a dog on Spruce Avenue in Silver Springs. The incident involved a Lyon County Commissioner.

This incident is being thoroughly and properly investigated by the Sheriff’s Office, to include the collection of evidence and compiling witness statements, according to a press release by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Two out-of-county forensic tests will be requested, and can take several months before we receive the finalized laboratory reports.

The completed case report will then be forwarded to the Lyon County District Attorney’s Office, who will probably provide the case out to another prosecuting agency for case review and determination.
