Dayton chili cookers are partnering with the Dayton Food Pantry for a Super Bowl party and community chili cookoff at the Dayton Valley Golf Club Bar and Grill on Sunday.

The event includes a silent auction and a raffle, whose prizes include dinner packages, gift certificates and Aces baseball tickets. Silent auction prizes include gift packages by River Vista Fitness, Gold Dust West, Dayton Valley Golf, Hand Jive, and others.

Cooking begins at 10 a.m., and contestants are asked to bring their own grill/stoves, tables, pots, pans, spices, ingredients, and any other items needed to prepare their chili.

At 2 p.m., a team of judges will taste the results and give prizes for the best chili. In addition, there will be a People’s Choice award. Sampling begins at 2 p.m., when the public can sample and vote.

Tickets for tasting are $5 each, or buy one bowl for $3. All proceeds benefit the Dayton Food Pantry.

A Super Bowl party follows the cookoff at the same location. For more information, contact Alie Trier at 775-246-7834, or John Peters at 775-443-8015.
