Gardnerville artists Charles Muench and Teri Sweeney have both been selected to participate in the prestigious American Miniatures Show and Sale at the Settler’s West Gallery in Tucson, Ariz.

The show, which opens Saturday, features more than 300 miniature paintings from 200 of the nation’s leading western artists. Some of the top names include: Howard Terpning, Mian Situ, and Harley Brown.

The Saturday opening, which begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception, finishes off with a purchase drawing at 7 p.m. and silent auction of a small work by Terpning. The show continues through February with works that are unsold at the opening.

Muench and Sweeney both participate in shows throughout the southwest. Muench lives and works in the Ruhenstroth area. He also shows his work in several galleries in California.

Sweeney’s work is being shown at her studio gallery in the Gardnerville Ranchos, where she also teaches workshops and classes.
