Banner Churchill Community Hospital now offers speech and language therapy services for patients in an outpatient setting.

Matt Snyder, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech language pathologist who provides inpatient and outpatient speech therapy. He joined Banner Churchill Community Hospital in late 2015.

Through speech therapy, Snyder uses special techniques to help patients improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, attention, concentration, memory and voice quality. Certified speech therapists also can help patients improve their ability to safely eat and drink. Snyder specializes in bedside swallow evaluations, diet modifications, modified barium swallow studies and cognitive and language evaluations and treatment. Snyder works with patients who are recovering from stroke or trauma to the head that impacts speech, swallow and reasoning functions.

Before joining Banner, Snyder worked in New Zealand for the Waitemata District Health Board. He also has worked in California.

Snyder received his master’s degree in speech language pathology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
