Madeline Sue “Mady” Garner left us on February 7, 2016, surrounded by her family at her home in Minden, Nevada. She was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in December and fought a hard battle for two months. Born Madeline Sue Richardson on November 24, 1942, to Lois and Allen Richardson, in Los Angeles, California. At age 14, she met the love of her life, Raymond Scott Garner and they would date for a while but then went their separate ways until 1962 when they ran into each other again. They were married on September 14, 1962. They welcomed three children into their lives. She was a loving wife, companion, friend, mother, artist and well respected member of the local community.

While working for Edward Jones in Gardnerville, NV. one of her responsibilities was to meet with Nevada Senators and Congress members in Washington, DC, to promote certain legislation beneficial to the investment community.

“Mady’s Art” was the featured artist in a one man art show held from January to June in 2004 at the Heritage Bank in Carson City.She is survived by her husband and best friend of 53 years, Ray, her children, Holly, Troy, and Wendy, her sister Gerrie, her granddaughter, Brittney Rae Townley, and two great-granddaughters, Christie Rae and Kennedy Kimber. The Garner family wishes to express our sincere thanks for the expressions of love during this time.

A celebration of life memorial will be held on February 27 at their residence from 11 am to 3 pm.
