The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting its eighth annual clothing drive to lend a hand to families in the Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, and Dayton communities to obtain clothes for school.

Families can pick up gently used clothing from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 13 at the church, 411 N. Saliman Road.

“Our goal is to reduce the stress parents face in getting their children ready for the coming school year,” said David Haws, president of the church’s local organization.

Clothing can be donated from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12 at the same location. Clothing for all ages can be donated, though the event is focusing on school-aged children.
