CASI thankful for support of Bark, Whine and Dine

Gotta love a party! On July 9, Carson Animal Services Initiative (CASI) had the pleasure of hosting our annual Bark, Whine and Dine fundraiser at Fuji Park, and because of our incredible community, it was once again a huge success.

As many of you know, CASI has been raising money to help Carson City build and equip the new animal shelter, and our work continues. We are currently focused on providing an exercise play yard at the shelter to allow dogs more time out of their kennels while they wait to be adopted. For some animals, the wait can be long so we are trying to make it a bit easier.

A huge thank you to Carson City BBQ for the incredible deal on food, Doug Brimm for the beer, Alsco for the linen, “Cowboy Bob” Truesdale for providing the music, and artist Kathleen Stemler for our flier artwork.

We would also like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their donations to the silent auction: Adele’s, A Finer Image, Bissell-Partner for Pets, Bodine’s Casino, Brad Bonkowski, Bridger Mountain, Carson Hot Springs Resort, Casino Fandango, Cassie Carter, Cecile and David Critchfield, Charlie B Gallery, Costco Wholesale, Crazy Cat Dog Grooming, Donna Curtis, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Ed Murray, Eileen Cohen, Eldorado Resort Casino, Flo Bilderback, Greenhouse Garden Center, High Sierra Business Systems, Kathleen Stemler, Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital, Loren and Judy Anderson, Lynn Berggren of Desert Sage Farms, Markleeville Art and Soul, Mary’s About Face, Murphys Suites, Nugget Casino of Reno, Pawsitive Image, Perfect Balance Pilates, Purple Avocado, Robin Travis, Sandi Conway, Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, Scott and Cindy Kukuk, Susan McCarthy of Scents for Pets, The Basil, Touched by Angels, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Yoga Sol, Yoga with Ruth.

All companion animals deserve a loving home. Having a welcoming shelter that people want to visit helps to make this happen.

On behalf of the animals,

Lisa Schuette
