Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested after leading deputies on chase

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 2:30 a.m., a 60-year-old Alturas, Calif., man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-drugs, possession of marijuana and basic speed after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 4100 block of South Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,650.

At 7:48 a.m., a 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of failure to appear warrants after deputies conducted a warrant service near the 1500 block of Mountain Street. Bail was set at $3,500.

At 5:17 p.m. a 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear warrant and no resident driver’s license after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Northridge Drive and Russell Way. Bail was set at $525.

At 6:34 p.m., a 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of stop sign violation, no valid driver’s license and failure to appear warrant after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Long Street and Russell Way. Bail was set at $300.

At 6:47 p.m., a 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order after deputies responded to reports of a court order violation near the 800 block of North Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 8:30 p.m., a 42-year-old Dayton woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-drugs and driver’s license suspended after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Saliman and Fairview drives. Bail was set at $1,500.

SATURDAY

At 2:19 a.m., a 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and destruction of property after deputies responded to reports of a domestic battery near the Carson Street Nugget Casino. The suspect was apprehended near the 100 block of Empire Lane. Bail was set at $3,500.

At 10:07 a.m., a 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of failure to appear, no proof of insurance, suspended driver’s license and suspended registration after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 700 block of Fairview Drive. Bail was set at $4,036.

At 2:27 p.m., a 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of contempt of court after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Highway 50 and Sherman Lane. Bail was set at $6,000.

At 6:27 p.m., Reagan Foster, 19, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance after deputies conducted a consensual stop with a group playing Pokemon Go near Marian Avenue and Long Street. Bail was set at $5,000.

At 9:43 p.m., Joshua Chandler, 24, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony preventing a witness from reporting a crime and domestic battery near the 500 block of William Street. Bail was set at $8,000.

At 10:08 p.m., Tammy Sorensen, 53, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of a dangerous drug after deputies conducted a consensual stop near the 1200 block of Woodside Drive. Bail was set at $7,500.

SUNDAY

At 3:04 a.m., a 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of violation of bail conditions after deputies initiated a traffic stop near William and Roop streets. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 5:39 a.m., a 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing and resisting after deputies responded to reports of a man trying to fight people at the Telegraph Street Blue Bull Bar. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended by gunpoint near the Hardman House after refusing to comply to orders. Bail was set at $300.

At 10:45 a.m., a 26-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a man attempting to steal items from the Market Street Walmart. The man fled the scene and was apprehended near the 600 block of College Parkway. Bail was set at $250.

At 4:47 p.m., Umberto Garcia, 28, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony eluding with endangerment, DUI-second offense, hit and run-attended vehicle, reckless driving in a work zone, failure to obey traffic control devices, failure to maintain a lane and open container after deputies responded to reports of a reckless driver near Rhodes and S. Carson Street. Garcia led deputies on a chase through Saliman and Fairview, running several red lights and ending at Highway 50 and I-580 after he hit the retaining wall. Bail was set at $23,830.

At 10:25 p.m., a 23-year-old Indian Hills man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving and no valid driver’s license after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 1000 block of S. Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,300.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
