Candidate forums scheduled in Carson City for October

League of Women Voters is partnering with AAUW, Sierra Nevada Forums and PFLAG to host a series of candidate forums in October.

All forums will take place at 6 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center.

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, candidates from Congressional District 2, State Board of Education District 2, Board of Regents District 9 and Assembly District 40 will be featured.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, candidates for Carson City Mayor and Supervisors Wards 2 and 4, and Carson School Trustee District 5 will be on stage. The Carson City gas tax question also will be discussed.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the statewide ballot measures will be presented. They are: Q1 Background Check; Q2 Regulate and Tax Marijuana; Q3 Energy Choice; Q4 Net Metering; and Q5 Medical Patient Tax Relief Act.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce also will be hosting a forum at 11:30 a.m. at Gold Dust West on Monday Oct. 17.
