Claude “Pat” Basil Peden long time Fallon resident, passed away after a prolonged illness on July 23, 2016 at Renown Medical Center.


Pat was born March 11, 1934 in Tulsa, OK.to Horace and Thelma Peden.


He graduated from high school in Deschutes County in 1952. As a senior in school, he was a school bus driver, taking the bus home at night, picking up all the kids the next morning. Upon graduating, Pat joined the Coast Guard, a career that lasted twenty years, retiring as a CW03.


Not to be idle, he went back to school, getting a Master’s Degree in Automotive Engineering . He became the Automotive Instructor at Western Nevada Community College, a course he taught for 14 years. After retiring once more, he went back to driving a school bus in Churchill County for several more years.


Preceded in death by his parents and first wife, mother of his two sons, Mary Ann Peden.


Pat is survived by his wife, Shirley Peden; sons, Daniel and David Peden; grandchildren, Sarah Chandler, Alex Peden and Brittney Peden; sisters; Wilda Markley; Rena Ferrero; numerous aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 A M at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church,507 Churchill Street in Fallon.
