Michael Candelario, former owner of the Lake Tahoe Brewing Company, turned himself into the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning.

Detectives were searching for Candelario after he failed to appear for his court hearing earlier this month. The former businessman was originally arrested for theft and obtaining money under false pretenses after the 33-year-old was arrested for allegedly stealing money from a brewing company in British Columbia. The warrant for his arrest was filed following an investigation that showed Candelario advertised beer canning equipment for sale on a brewing industry website and made an agreement with a brewery in British Columbia, Canada, to sell the equipment.

The victim made payments to Candelario totaling more than $45,000 but didn’t arrange for the equipment to be shipped to the Canadian brewer. The victim filed a report with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia who forwarded the report to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Candelario posted bail after he was arrested in February, but then didn’t show up to his court hearing and the court issued a felony contempt of court warrant and a violation of pretrial supervision. Candelario turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office to detectives Tuesday morning.

Bail for the two warrants is set at $13,000.
