Sgt. Major Bryan Staples, a retired military man, formerly of the Department of the Pacific, Federal Battalion, operations consultant and longtime Civil War reenactor, will present about the Civil War at the Gold Hill Hotel’s next presentation on June 9.

Staples, the former owner of Sergeant-Major’s Silver Dollar Saloon in Virginia City, has been involved in Civil War reenactments in Northern Nevada for many years. Now that he is retired, he can be found in full uniform most weekends on C Street sharing stories with visitors

Dinner is 4-8 p.m. in the hotel’s Crown Point Restaurant, 1540 Main St., Gold Hill. The presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room. For dinner reservations, call 775-847-0111.
