Tahoe/Douglas Elks visited the Reno VA hospital on May 25 to deliver thank you cards and Flags to hospitalized vets. The cards were made by students and teachers at CC Meneley Elementary School. The Elks also delivered 10 boxes of books, magazines and toiletries donated by members. From the left are Tom Zogorski, Jerry Goehring, Howard Wickersham, Gary Wendt, Earl Capehart (Korea Vet), Ricco Petretti (World War II vet) and Jim Plamening. The members are living by the Elks motto, ‘As long as there are veterans, we shall never forget them.’

Elks also placed American flags on veterans’ graves May 27 at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. The Elks have placed flags on veterans’ graves for more than a quarter of a century.
