Carson City road report for March 7-13, 2016: Downtown corridor project to begin

The following information applies to the period of March 7-13.

Beginning Monday, March 7, work will start on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. For details regarding traffic impacts as a result of the project, go to www.carsonproud.com.

There will be lane closures with flagger-controlled traffic weekdays on College Parkway just east of Airport Road and at the intersection of College Parkway and Dale Drive due to utility work.

There will be road closures on Washington Street at the following locations due to the construction of the East/West Water Transmission Project:

Curry Street to Phillips Street, Monday through Wednesday

Carson Street to Stewart Street, Tuesday through Thursday

Stewart Street to Roop Street, Wednesday and Thursday

Shoulder closures from Curry Street to Roop Street, Friday

On Monday, March 7, the traffic signal at the intersection of Carson Street and Arrowhead Drive/Medical Parkway will be converted to a four-way stop due to signal maintenance. Drivers are advised to use caution.

Lane closures are expected at the following locations due to utility work:

Center Drive at the intersection with Topsy Lane

The northbound Carson Street to westbound Hot Springs Road turn pocket (Thursday only)

Presti Lane (shoulder work only)

Race Track Road will be closed to through traffic between Bigelow and Schulz drives; Bigelow Drive will be closed to through traffic south of Snyder Avenue for the week.

There will be intermittent lane closures at the intersection of King Street and Ormsby Boulevard. Minor delays are possible.

The Bellevue Road bridge over I-580 in Washoe Valley will continue to be closed due to maintenance. The overpass and ramps are expected to be closed for approximately three months. Detours will be signed.
