Douglas County School District is offering a free Child Find screening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 19 at Minden Elementary School, 1170 Baler St., Minden.

The screenings are for children three to five years old who have not entered kindergarten and reside in Douglas County. The screenings are geared for anyone with concerns a child may have delays in early childhood development with speech, language, cognitive, social or emotional skills, and/or fine or gross motor delays. If a child is suspected of having a developmental delay, he or she will be recommended for further evaluations with the school district free of charge and may be eligible for school services.

Anyone who cannot attend the screenings can call the Douglas County School District Special Services at any time to request a screening. For more information, call Cate Guzy of Douglas County School Special Services at 775-265-5262, ext. 4.
