Gold Hill Hotel to host journalist Frank Mullen’s talk about Donner Party March 24

Frank X. Mullen, former investigative journalist for the Reno Gazette-Journal, will tell the tale of the Donner Party at Gold Hill Hotel’s next Thursday evening presentation on March 24.

Mullen is the author of “The Donner Party Chronicles,” a book that was the basis for a documentary produced by the Weather Channel, which also was shown on public television. Mullen is an investigative reporter, author, historian, university journalism professor, chautauqua performer and freelance writer. For more information about his works, go to www.frankxmullen.com.

The presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. Dinner is 4-8 p.m. at the hotel’s Crown Point Restaurant, 1540 Main St., Gold Hill. The cost is $25 for the dinner and lecture and $10 for the lecture only. For reservations, call 775-847-0111.
