The Historic Fourth Ward School in Virginia City is hosting a fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. May 21 to support “The City of White Gold,” a documentary in the making that tells the story of how the Comstock helped build San Francisco.

Fundraiser attendees will see never-before-seen archival photos appearing in the film and learn how to make a historical documentary and meet the film’s creator and director, Geordie Lynch.

Admission is $45. Tickets are limited. The price includes food, a drink, and one raffle ticket. There will be live music, presentations, and raffle prizes throughout the evening.

All proceeds go to the completion of the film. For tickets, go to www.comstockfoundation.org, and click on “SHOP,” or mail checks to The Comstock Foundation, PO Box 61, Virginia City, NV 89440.
