Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties is accepting applications from youth and adult volunteers who would like to spend June 1-3 at this year’s Leadership Out Loud camp, next to Edgewood Golf Course at Lake Tahoe.

This year’s theme is “Heroes vs. Villains.” Public speaking, teamwork, communication and leadership skills as well as drug, tobacco and alcohol prevention will be practiced through games and group activities. Camp attendees will have time for supervised activities at the camp’s private beach, volleyball and basketball courts. They will choose from evening activities like campfire time, glow in the dark games, arts and music, poetry slams, and more. Transportation will be provided by bus from Silver Springs, Fernley, Dayton and Yerington. Applications from youth ages 12-17 from Lyon, Storey, and Douglas counties will be accepted until May 20. The camp is free.

For registration packets, email Tammy Watts at tsutton@lyoncsd.org.
