The non-partisan Good Governance Group of Douglas County will hold its 2016 Candidates Forum & Mixer for individuals running for Douglas County elected offices from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 16 fat the Carson Valley Inn in Minden.
The program will include both a formal Q&A for Board of County Commissioners candidates, and an opportunity for other candidates to introduce themselves and state the reasons they are seeking elected office. From 7 to 7:30 p.m., candidates for the School District Board of Trustees and other county-wide offices will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and state why they are seeking public office.
The forum will be moderated by Jerry Evans, owner of KKFT 99.1 FM Talk. Doors open at 6 p.m. Libations will be available.
All five Commissioner candidates will respond to several Good Governance Group questions. Voters arriving before 6:30 p.m. will receive copies of the questions and be invited to submit their own questions in writing before the Commissioner candidate Q&A begins. The formal program will conclude at 9 p.m., and candidates will again be encouraged to mingle with members of the audience.
