More than a day after he walked away from a work crew in downtown Carson City, authorities are still looking for prison inmate Michael David Lillie.

Lillie arrived at the Stewart Conservation Camp along Carson City’s southern border April 8 to serve a sentence for felony DUI.

“We had some reported sightings and a lot of leads to follow up but haven’t located him yet,” said Department of Corrections public information officer Brooke Keast.

She said since Lillie is a local resident, she expects someone is going to spot him and report his whereabouts in a day or so.

Lillie, 37, was arrested in December in Stateline after a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.17, more than double the legal limit.

He was on parole at the time from a previous felony DUI conviction in April 2013 in Carson City. Keast said he had been on parole about nine months from that crime and, she said, was just a few weeks away from a parole hearing when he escaped.

He walked away from a downtown Carson City inmate work crew Wednesday afternoon. When Lillie was sentenced this year, his lawyer told Douglas County District Judge Tom Gregory he wanted to remain free because his mother only has a few years to live.

Gregory sentenced him to up to 15 years in prison on the most recent felony DUI, ordering it to be served consecutive to the first sentence.
