Leonard “Hap” Gleason, Jr 86, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2016 at the Homestead Senior living facility. He was born in Kansas City, MO on March 9, 1930 to Leonard Sr. and Doris Gleason and was blessed with 4 beautiful sisters who spoiled their only brother rotten. Leonard is preceded in death by his wife Lillie of 51 years and their youngest son, Gary. He is survived by his son and daughter, Larry Gleason and Kathleen (Terry) Lindberg, his sister Etta Paulakis, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leonard joined the Navy at 17 years of age retiring 22 years later as a First Class Petty Officer. In those years he was able to travel to every corner of the world and was also a deep sea diver. His greatest love however, besides his Lovely Irish Rose, Lillie, was his passion for golfing. A passion he passed on to his children, grandchildren and even his great grandchildren. Leonard’s strength of character, kindness, his generosity to a fault and his and sense of duty to family, friends and country garnered many who loved and admired him. Leonard will be deeply missed but now has gone onto eternal peace. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, April 22nd at 1:00 pm at the Churchill County Cemetery in Fallon under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Fallon 423-2255.
