One person is dead and another injured in a shooting that occurred 7:10 p.m. Thursday on East Newlands Drive in Fernley.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pronounced one victim dead at the scene. The other shooting victim was taken for treatment.
Lyon County authorities say they believe the shooting was an isolated incident, and there’s no threat to the community.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have any information regarding this case to call the Sheriff’s Office at 775-463-6620 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
In addition to deputies, the Nevada Highway Patrol and North Lyon County Fire Protection District medics responded to the incident.
