The Appeal’s general election guide will appear on Tuesday, Oct. 18, ahead of early voting for the Nov. 8 General Election.

The League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, in partnership with Sierra Nevada Forums, American Association of University Women Capital (NV) Branch, and PFLAG Carson Region, reminds everyone the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 18. Nevadans who wish to vote must be at least 18 years old by Nov. 8, U.S. citizen and must have continuously lived in Nevada for at least 30 days and in their county for at least 10 days. Registration can be done online, by mail or in person.
The deadline to register to vote online or at the Clerk’s office is Oct. 18. Information about registering is available at https://nvsos.gov/sosvoterservices/Registration/step1.aspx or Carson City residents can go in person to the County Election office at 885 East Musser St.
The four organizations (LWV, SNF, AAUW and PFLAG Carson Region) will host a series of election forums on Oct. 11, 12 and 18. The forums will feature state and local candidates and experts on the questions that will appear on the Nov. 8 Carson City ballot. The public is invited to attend the three forums at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 West King St. Doors open at 5:30, and the forums begin at 6 p.m. each day.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will host local candidates forum at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Gold Dust West. The lunch will feature candidates for mayor and supervisor. The cost is $18. Signup at http://www.carsoncitychamber.com.
