Farewell to Ki, CAPS’ Ambassador

Sadness has struck the Falon community and especially for those who adored the kissing dog. Ki, CAPS ambassador at special events and appearances, recently passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Ki. He has gone over the Rainbow Bridge to a happy, pain-free heavenly life. We will miss our Ki greeting and kissing folks at Walmart. His

mom, Sharon, has a special place in her heart that Ki will forever fill.

Ki was a graduate of CAPS. He had been returned to CAPS three times when Sharon and her late husband, Herb, decided to take him home and give him the love and attention he deserved. Ki was mixture of Labrador, greyhound and possibly kangaroo. He was a handsome guy.

Sharon and Herb knew that with proper training and constant love Ki would become the sweet ambassador of the CAPS Kissin’ Booth. Ki had star qualities and loved being adored by his public. He faithfully and joyfully fulfilled his role for 11 years, greeting folks and promoting our no-kill-shelter.

Ki ran like a race dog, jumped like a pole-vaulter and lounged like a Lab. He wasn’t a ball fetcher; no, Ki was bored by the simple game of fetch. Ki was a guy who wanted to be part of the family. He loved to put his head on your knees and look deeply into your eyes.

Ki was the ultimate gentleman who would gladly escort you to the door or even to your car, he never wanted to let a guest leave unaccompanied. You always felt safe with Ki on the job. I suspect that Ki is the official Kissin’ Booth greeter at the Pearly Gates. Thank you to Ki for a job well done! You are missed by your family and fans.

SHOUT OUT TO

Thank you to the many individuals, businesses and patrons who made our Murder Mystery Dinner Theater a success. Our shelter guests send a standing Paws Applause! to playwright Bob Gabrielli; to songwriter Kathy Gabrielli; to director David Doll; to music accompanist Mike Irby; to actors David Doll, Steve Fraker, Ashlee McGarity, Chase McKenna, Lachlan McKinney, Diane Peters, Michael Peters and Teresa Summers; for culinary delights by the Fallon Lions Club and to CAPS board members who give unselfishly of their time, resources and love and who make our autumn fundraiser run so smoothly. Our community rocks! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts..

LOOKING FOR A HOME

Believe it or not, October is Adopt a Pit Bull month and we have a beautiful young girl looking for a home. Lexi is an American bull dog mix who is 18 months old. Her lovely white coat is highlighted with a few brown spots. She is very sweet, shy and is looking for a home where she is loved. Lexi likes walking and would appreciate having a stroll with you. Come out and meet her.
