Mystery is on the menu for Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary’s next fundraiser for the hospital.

“Pasta Wars,” an evening of dinner and interactive murder mystery theater, will be held at the Larry Ruvo Stateroom next to the Governor’s Mansion on Nov. 5.

Attendees are invited to solve the crime as they dine with members of the cast from Fun Time Theater.

Guests are also encouraged to wear a period costume in line with the “gangster-era mob wars.”

The dinner also features a raffle of various donated items from local merchants and businesses.

Tickets are $60 and available online at www.funtimetheater.com or at the Carson Tahoe Health gift shop inside the hospital.

The 64 year-old Auxiliary is an all-volunteer group that raises money for the hospital.

In the recent past, it has purchased 39 wheelchairs and the two golf carts used to transport people from the parking lot to the hospital.

The group also gives a $10,000 scholarship that helps 10 Western Nevada College nursing students pay for their education.

And last year it provided a $6,000 match for the hospital to send six nurses for oncology training.

The Auxiliary’s other fundraiser is the Wine, Cheese and Dessert Train, a springtime ride to Virginia City on the V&T Railroad that includes discounts at local shops there.

But the group’s biggest fundraiser is the hospital gift shop, which sells flowers, candy and a variety of gifts.

For more information, call the gift shop at 445-5142.
