Carson City Elks Lodge collecting animals hides to make gloves for veterans

Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 in conjunction with Elks National Veteran Service Commission continues to seek hides from deer, elk, and antelope. This annual project turns unused hides into free wheelchair gloves and craft projects for local and national veterans.

Once the hides have been salted and either laid flat or rolled hair side out, the club can make arrangements to pick them up and have them transported to Arkansas for processing

For pickup and more information about the Veteran Leather Program, call Al Bye at 775-267-9167.
