Let’s do the time warp again!

Carson City is celebrating the cult classic, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” with a screening of the original musical on Friday, Oct. 28.

Made possible by the BAC and Proscenium Players, Inc., the event will be at 8:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.

The event includes costume contests and activities and the movie will begin at 10 p.m. The costume contest will have prizes from local businesses.

Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, the R-rated film is part campy musical and part horror flick.

The movie, a satirical tribute to science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through 1970s, is based on the musical stage production of the same name by Richard O’Brien.

The event at the BAC encourages audience members to come as their favorite character and will even teach you the Time Warp ahead of time so you can join in on the fun. However, any kind of costume is encouraged.

“People have been asking for us to do this for years,” said Mike Wiencek, PPI member and BAC board member. “This is the way this movie was meant to be seen — in a theater full of people all dressed up, and sharing the experience together.”

Tickets are $10 and $15 at the door with discounts for PPI or BAC members.

Youth under 18 will not be admitted without an adult.

Advanced tickets are available for purchase at Breweryarts.org or in the BAC’s Artisan Store at 449 W. King St.
