The Carson City Soroptimist meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 is open to the public.
The cost for the optional lunch is $16 per person. The featured speaker is John Vanek, M.A. a retired lieutenant with the San Jose Police Department where he managed the Human Trafficking Task Force. He holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from St. Mary’s College of California. Vanek works with a variety of federal and state agencies, community-based organizations, and academic institutions to promote the skills needed for an effective collaborative response to difficult issues.
