One person was hospitalized following a motorcycle versus vehicle crash Monday.

Nevada Highway Patrol and Carson City Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an injury accident between a Dodge pickup and a motorcycle at 3:35 p.m. Monday on Highway 50 across from the Goodwill Donation store.

The pickup had been waiting in a private drive to turn left onto Highway 50 into the number one lane when the motorcycle was in the eastbound lane. The motorcycle hit the pickup, as it was turning eastbound into the number one lane, striking the front of the pickup.

The motorcycle skidded across all four lanes of traffic, stopping in the westbound lane of Highway 50.

The motorcyclist was transported to Renown Regional Hospital via CareFlight with moderate injuries. The other driver was uninjured.

Traffic was diverted in both directions. The westbound lanes were both shut down and traffic was diverted to the dirt shoulder, around the accident, for about a half hour. One westbound lane was reopened around 4 p.m.

Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
