Leona Evelyn Howk

Leona Evelyn Howk, 73, died September 8, 2016, following complications after heart surgery. She was born April 21,1943, in Long Beach California, at the Navy hospital. She grew up in Paradise and Chico California.

She met Walter Eugene Howk, after he bumped into her cart at the local market, and they were eventually married on October 09, 1967. They had four beautiful children during the time that they were married. They separated, and she moved here to Carson City, where she began working at the Casino Fandango. After retiring she liked to gamble, watch TV, and visit with her children and grandchildren. She was full of life and loved by so many. We will all miss her dearly.

She is survived by four children; daughter, Brandy McElroy and husband Gary of Dayton, NV, and her two children, Adrianna and Randall; son, Cordell Howk and wife Laura of Carson City, NV; son, Monty Howk and wife Trina of Turlock, California; son, Michael Howk and wife Monica, and their two daughters, Maddie and Tabi of Carson, City NV. Her long time friend and roommate Ted White, and her best friend Dinah Tracy. We know you are in a better place now Mom, but know you are greatly missed. Lee had decided to make a precious donation of her body to UNR for research.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
