Maria Christie Asis has been appointed to the position of branch manager of the newly-constructed United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) branch in Carson City.

The branch, at 935 Jacks Valley Road, will open for business starting Monday, Oct. 3, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for mid-October.

In her new role, Asis will be responsible for providing operational leadership to branch staff, including staff development and retention, growth of branch sales performance, and building relationships in the community.

Asis has nine years of experience in the financial industry including branch manager at U.S. Bank. She also has experience in personal banking, business development and customer service. Asis holds a degree in electronics engineering from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. She’s a member of the Rotary Club of Minden, and she volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada.

The new branch brings the total number of free-standing UFCU branches in Nevada to seven. UFCU also operates an in-store branch at the Walmart Supercenter on Kietzke Lane, Reno, and a satellite branch at Sparks Reed High School.
