Sierra Place Senior Living hosting Carson City Supervisor, Mayor candidates

“Meet the Candidates” events are being held at Sierra Place Senior Living, 1111 W. College Parkway.

The following candidates are scheduled to attend — Maurice White, Supervisor Ward 2, at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 4; Brad Bonkowski, Ward 2 Supervisor, at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5; Chris Carver, Mayor, at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6; Bob Crowell, Mayor, at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 12; John Barrette, Supervisor Ward 4, at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 13; and Jim Shirk, Supervisor Ward 4, at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 18.

Other free events at Sierra Place include a Parkinson’s disease support group at 2 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month; Verna Lewis’ fitness class at 2 p.m. Mondays; Embracing Change and Aging with Geri Meyer, a retired therapist, at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 and 15; a bird watching trip around Washoe Lake with Jim Woods at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 3; and Mark McLaughlin’s presentation about Lake Tahoe in the 1930s at 10 a.m. Oct. 11.
