Columnist misinformed on healthcare
As we mature we quite often reflect upon our skills and accomplishments through rose colored glasses. We embellish and view ourselves on a higher level.
The commentary authored by Mr. LaSor is a classic example of this. He sees the world the way he thinks it should be by put downs on the liberal Democrats who at least try to make the world a better place.
Yes, we all have our opinions as to how we see the world, but our opinions should be predicated upon facts and not hyperbole.
LaSor mentions Dr. Edward Gray’s recent healthcare article in the Appeal and then cherry picks only those parts that support his conservative and unrealistic views of the world.
As suggested, I re-read Gray’s article and the comment that “Obamacare is failing daily” is blatantly false — 6.4 million people have signed up for the Affordable Care Act last year; since its enactment in 2010, the number of enrollees hovers around 20 million.
Is the ACA perfect? No, it is not, but as was shown recently when the Republicans attempted to create “Ryancare,” it failed miserably even though they had eight years to make the improvements.
Three of the major flaws which the Affordable Care Act failed to address were controls upon the lawyers, the insurance companies and last the drug companies, the root causes of sky-high healthcare.
Yes, Fred, you cherry picked Gray’s article superbly but failed to make a cogent conclusion. I give you an “F.”
