Nevada Arts Council names interim executive director

Linda Ficklin, deputy director of the Nevada Arts Council, has been named interim executive director of the state agency while a national search is underway to fill the position.

“Linda has solid knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the agency, so will be capable of getting us through this transition,” said Claudia Vecchio, director of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.

Longtime executive director Susan Boskoff retired at the end of March.

Ficklin joined the Nevada Arts Council in March 2006, overseeing financial management, accounting, administrative services and personnel.

“I look forward to working with the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and with Nevada Arts Council board and staff in my role as interim executive director, promoting the arts statewide with our many services, grants and programs,” Ficklin said.

Born in Sacramento and raised in South Lake Tahoe, she attended Western Nevada College before going on to Colorado Technical University, where she earned a degree in finance and accounting.
