Danger of hitching mules to a light building: Yesterday morning 16 mules, hitched to a wooden building about 12 by 24 feet, came up a byway and walked right along Carson Street. Starting point and place of destination unknown to us. We only saw the procession as it passed.

About 30 men employed at the quarry of the Mound House Plaster Works quit work Saturday on account of the refusal of the company to grant them a raise in wages from $3 to $4 per day. It seems the milkmen and quarry men had agreed upon making a demand for different amounts. Gov. Boyle offered his services as mediator.

Described as the worst fire this year in Ormsby County, flames last night razed a four-room frame building on Prison Road. The structure, located near the city’s sewage disposal plant, was owned by William Harris of Carson City, clerk at the Nevada State Prison. Fire Chief George Meyers said the blaze may have been caused from an overheated stove.

An X-ray performed this morning on the badly decomposed body of a woman found on a mountainside about four miles from Carson City, revealed there were no apparent bullet holes or broken bones.
