Soroptimist International of Fallon’s annual Home and Garden Show has been a popular fixture since it began 17 years ago.

Inspired by a spring-like weekend with temperatures expected to climb into the mid-to-high 70s, the weather should put attendees in the mood to see what ideas are out there to spruce up their home — inside and out.

The Home and Garden Show’s hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the Fallon Convention Center. Vendors are coming to the show with many new ideas for spring. For the garden and patio, J&K Llamas, Workman’s “Better than Yesterday” and Flower Tree Nursery will be at the show with their spring plantings. Custom Design and Argenta Phantom Screens will provide ideas for people to finish their projects.

Marcia Vinson said Out West Buildings is a new vendor this year, but visitors will enjoy looking at the various displays and talking to representatives at the booths of Perfectly Post, Wonder Zone-Pain Stops Here, Needle in a Haystack, Made by Dixie, The U, TOPS, Usborne Books and Re/Max Connection.

For the indoors, Vinson said vendors include Rainbow Vacuum Cleaners, USA Bath and Closet, Custom Cabinet and Design, Bassham Furniture, Sierra Enterprises and CC Communications. Others may want to warm up the kitchen with Susan’s Bags and Aprons. At previous spring shows, Vinson said community booths include the Churchill County Museum, Churchill Community Coalition, Banner Churchill Community Hospital Auxiliary and Banner Heath, Churchill County Extension and Child and Family Services Foster Care.

Children will also find displays appealing to their likes to include Ivy’s face painting, 4-H animal display with chicken bingo and Churchill Free Mason’s Club fingerprinting. Women will enjoy clothing vendors, beauty products, lavender soaps, women’s defense, nutritional food products and jewelry. KAIA Fit shares the value of exercise.

For the animal lover in the family, stop by and see the folks at the Fallon Animal Welfare Group.

Vinson added many more vendors will be at the convention center to share their wares. Food and snacks are available from Lattin Farms and Pearl’s Bakery and Café.

Soroptimist International is an organization for women donating their time and talents to doing what is best for women and girls in the community. Projects supported by proceeds from the Home and Garden Show have been the Pioneer Park on North Maine Street, the Fallon Senior Center, Frances Aguirre Memorial scholarship for graduating high-schools girl, and the Live Your Dream Award for a single mother finishing her education.
