Newton, Massachusetts man arrested on drug charges says Carson City Sheriff’s Office

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 8:24 a.m., Stephen Skipworth, 33, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony parole and probation violation after deputies responded as backup near the 1300 block of Long Street. No bail was set.

At 10:50 a.m., John Westcott, 39, of Newton, Mass., was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and DUI after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Carson Street and Nye Road. Bail was set at $8,500.

At 3:44 p.m., a 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and stop sign violation after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Long and Mariane streets. Bail was set at $1,050.

At 5:14 p.m., a 34-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear after deputies conducted a warrant service near the 1400 block of S. Carson Street. Bail was set at $656.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
