Man held for felony trafficking, says Carson City Sheriff’s Office

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

TUESDAY

At 2:12 a.m., Jay Schier, 31, of Susanville, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and DUI after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious subject at the Highway 50 Maverick Gas Station. Bail was set at $3,500.

At 10:22 a.m., Greg Gorsuch, 66, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony trafficking, felony possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, basic speed, unregistered vehicle and driver’s license not in possession after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Deer Run Road and Highway 50. Bail was set at $41,130.

At 3:13 p.m., a 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of probation violation after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 1700 block of N. Carson Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 4:13 p.m., a 28-year-old transient woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer, no vehicle insurance, stop sign violation and driver’s license suspended after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Roop and Stewart Street. Bail was set at $1,140.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
