November 9, 1937 ~ December 13, 2017

Long-time Fallon resident Jean Larsen passed away on December 13, 2017 at her home of cancer.

She was born on November 9, 1937 in Sterling, Scotland. She had a love of life that was contagious to everyone who knew her. When she was a little girl she would play at the Sterling castle in Scotland.

She came to the United States in the late fifties and lived in California for a time. She held some diverse jobs in her life, a candy striper, doing sewing machine demos in Broadway department store, and a cook in the school system. She was blessed to be the head cook at the Churchill County senior center for many years where she touched many lives. Her favorite job was being a mother of four and she took her duties as a grandmother seriously. She loved camping out at Lake Lahontan and she also loved going to her cabin in Kingston.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Larsen, her parents, George Hunter and Helen Cooper and a sister, Helen.

She is survived by her son Ross Bonar; son and daughter-in-law Clayton and Diana Larsen; daughter Billie Graves, all of Fallon, and daughter and son-in-law Heather and Jeff Walker of Florida; grandchildren Angela, Ashley, Steven, Sean, Laura, Tyler, Kyle, Bryce, and Brenden; great-grandchildren Daikota, Alexis, Hailey, Austin and Emma; sister and brother-in-law Vi and Frank O’neil of New York, and brother George Hunter in Scotland; sister-in-law Patty Long and her husband Paul of Caliente, and sister-in-law, Helen Simms of Reno.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. at The Gardens Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, Fallon, 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, NV 89406 775-423-8928.
