The Nevada Judges Association consisting of more than 80 justices of the peace and Municipal Court judges from the justice and municipal courts throughout the state honored Carson City Justice of the Peace/Municipal Court Judge John Tatro.

The Outstanding Achievement in Judicial Education award, the highest award for judicial education from the Nevada Supreme Court, was presented by Supreme Court Justice Lidia Stiglich at the 2017 Winter Seminar.

The certificate states the Honorable John Tatro, having demonstrated approval and support of court improvement through continuing judicial education, has completed with honor and distinction the academic curriculum authorized by statute and prescribed by the Judicial Department of the state of Nevada.

Recipients of the award are commended for their contribution to improving the quality of the judiciary in Nevada.

Tatro completed 1,000 hours of judicial education. He has been Justice of the Peace/Municipal Court Judge in Carson City, Department II, since 1995.
