Saturday’s temperatures are forecasted to reach the high 90s, so why not take the kids out for a water balloon challenge?

As a local non-profit aimed to promote random acts of kindness, The Littlest Things is hosting a free community event for all ages: the second annual Water Wars.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own water guns, clothes to get wet in, and a towel to dry off with. Water balloons will be provided and rounds will be 15 minutes each. To play in every round is optional and prizes will be presented to the last person standing per round.

All supplies to put on this event were donated by various community members.

Zoe Cockerill, owner of The Littlest Things, started the non-profit about a year ago. The program also promotes animal rescue education throughout the local community with events. Based in her backyard, she hosts programs for children educating them about responsibilities of owning a pet.

Three of the ponies on Cockerill’s mini farm are rescued, as they were purchased by families who couldn’t take care of them.

Although many of the charity’s events are free, The Littlest Things is open to volunteering and donation opportunities to help launch these events.

Water Wars is from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Carson Catalina Apartments, 700 Hot Springs Road.
