Signups are underway for Nevada Humane Society’s Walk for Animals, an event to raise support for homeless pets. The walk will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 12 at Sparks Marina.

Presented by Dick Campagni’s Carson City Toyota, the event is back after a three-year hiatus with a new addition — the chance to win 2017 Toyota Corolla.

Registration for individuals and teams is at www.NevadaHumaneSociety.org. Individuals also can sign up at the event, but teams must register online.

The event offers the chance for walkers to gather monetary pledges to support them as they make the two-mile walk around Sparks Marina, with the pledges benefitting homeless pets.

Festivities like entertainment, vendors, food trucks, pet adoptions and the car raffle will follow the event. Organizers encourage participants to start collecting donations now, as prizes will be given to the top three individuals as well as the top three teams.

Registration varies from $10 to $50 and includes a T-shirt. Raffle tickets are $25 each at the Nevada Humane Society, 549 Airport Road in Carson City or 2825 Longley Lane in Reno, or Carson City Toyota, 2590 S. Carson St. Also, raffle tickets are available by calling 775-856-2000, ext. 320.
