Lighthouse Laser and Medical Spa has just expanded to a larger location on West Williams Avenue, and the Fallon Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon-cutting to welcome the business along one of the city’s most vibrant streets in the city.

This expansion is occuring almost four years in business. Lighthouse Laser and Medical Spa is a locally-owned business that was opened by sisters Darity Openshaw and Blair Johnson.

Their new location is at 625 W. Williams Ave., suite B. They are open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Satuday from 9 a.m.-noon. Their telephone number is 775-428-1005.

Openshaw started her career as a medical laser technician and aesthetician 14 years ago in Arizona and was excited to share her skills and unique career with her hometown of Fallon.

As she explained it, “I got into this career because I was very unlucky and cursed with ancestors that passed along an excess of unwanted hair to me. I did not like this, especially as a woman.”

Openshaw learned of laser hair removal, a technique that began in the early 2000s, but over the years, the laser technique has improved tremendously.

Also, Openshaw is personally familiar with laser removing techniques, and because of her own experiences, she wants to help others as their laser technician.

Best of all, she said Lighthouse Laser uses the newest technology and sets its prices to about half of what Reno is charging.

“If you loath excess hair, we are the answer,” she said.

Also with Openshwaw is her sister, who has also been a certified medical laser technician and aesthetician for eight years.

Since their start in a one-room studio, they are happy to now be in a larger facility.

Openshaw said Lighthouse Laser and Medical Spa now consists of a team of 10 employees. The business offers affordable laser hair removal administered by certified medical laser technicians, skin care by skilled aestheticians and a nurse practitioner who offers Botox, Juvederm and Sclerotherapy for vein removal and B12 injections. She said Amy Jo Grissom with Double Heart Healing, who has a business adjacent to Lighthouse Laser and Medical Spa, offers a variety of massage therapy techniques.

“Our friendly receptionists are ready to take phone calls to answer questions and make appointments and Dr. Holman oversees out facility as out medical director,” Openshaw said. “Many women struggle with excess facial hair and report that laser is life changing for them once they eliminate this hair.”

“Each treatment kills a cycle of hair growth, so every session reaps a short term benefit as you work toward the long term goal.”
