Stewart passed away at Carson Valley Senior Living where he had resided for the last nineteen years.


He was born in Douglas, Arizona to George and Chalyce Liddell. The family moved to Whittier, California when he was 7 years old, where he grew up and graduated from California High School in 1963.


Stewart has always been a volunteer, having served for many years at the Rio Hondo Chapter of the Red Cross in Whittier, California. After moving to Gardnerville he volunteered at the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, Barton Hospice Thrift Store, the Sertoma Club and received the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2003 and again in 2008.


Stewart was preceded in death by his father and mother, his two sisters, Sandy Pasqua and Pam Gang and nephew Bruce Burks.


He is survived by his stepmother Joan Liddell; brother George (Yvonne) Liddell; brother Brad (Laurie) Rolfness; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.


We would like to thank the entire staff at Carson Valley Senior Living for the exceptional care Stewart received during his long stay there.


No memorial service is planned at this time.
