Mike Parapid and Evan Shane were the flight winners at the initial Carson City Senior Men’s Club event at Silver Oak over the weekend.
Parapid won Flight 1 with a net 64 and Shane won Flight 2 with a net 69.
Jim Silsby was second in Flight 1 with a 67, and Kevin and Larry Johnson tied for third at 70. Eric Moormann was second in Flight 2 with a 71 and Jack Poshusta was third with a 73.
Kevin Johnson was the low gross winner.
Shabi, Tierney team
up for victory
Jim Shabi and John Tierney shot a net 61 to win Flight A at the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club two-man scramble at Eagle Valley-West.
Dennis Joseph and Bub Dick shot 63 and Wade Walker and Brick Ludington finished at 64. In Flight B, Dino DiCanno and Roger Maxwell shot 52, six ahead of Nick Paul and John Masiello. Adam Huber and Bill Gibson were third with a 60.
In Flight C, Dan Rodgers and Jerry Ventura won with a 55, a shot better than Fred Perdomo and Myron Carpenter and four better than Kurt Cleek and Peter Youngdahl.

Plumas Pines Golf Resort is offering annual memberships for this season.
Unlimited play memberships, with a cart, are $2,250 for a single and $3,750 for a family. Unlimited walking memberships are $1,750 for a single and $3,000 for a family. Annual memberships are $500 which doesn’t include green fees or a cart. Members play now through May 25 for $45 including a cart before 2 p.m. After Oct. 1, the cost is $29 with cart after 2 p.m.

WNC soccer club
loses to Chico St.
Western Nevada women’s soccer club fell to 0-1-1 on the season after a 3-0 loss to Chico State over the weekend in a WCSA match.
The Wildcats were down three players and short on subs, according to coach James Barlow.
Chico State scored late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead, and then tallied twice in the second half.
Keeper Annie Aranda was credited with 11 saves and midfielder Sara Hernandez was lauded for her performance.
