The members of Dayton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8660 presented special awards last week to the Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies in central Lyon County.
An award was presented to Deputy Jeremy Best, whom was recognized as Outstanding Deputy of the Year.
According to the post, Deputy Best has a proactive approach in keeping Lyon County safe. He works hard, never procrastinates, and goes above and beyond the call of duty.
An award also was presented to all deputies in the central Lyon County area for their service.
As members and wives or combat veterans, the post appreciates the importance of feeling and being safe, and appreciate the time deputies put into the community.
