Dec. 24, 1952 ~ May 3, 2017

Known by many in the Carson Valley as “Shine”, Gary brought a smile to the face of everyone he talked to and was always there to help someone in need. He had a special camaraderie with his close friends. His relationships ranged from his time in law enforcement to his love of orchids.

Gary had an unbelievable work ethic which he applied to every aspect of his life. From running his two businesses to his love of gardening. He loved people, his family, and the outdoors. He enjoyed horseback riding in the mountains

with his wife, friends, and his horse Scout.

Gary’s legacy will continue through his wife Lisa, their children, April (Jason) Caughron, Greg (Katie) Minter, and Jason (Kami) Porterfield. Gary loved being Papa to his nine grandchildren. His engaging smile will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary’s memory to the National Brain Tumor Society www.braintumor.org.
