This summer, Carson City will have a new weekly event to help bring more art to the residents.

The Carson City Arts and Antiques Fair will run every Saturday in conjunction with the Farmer’s Market. Vendors can set up their booths at the Carson City Art Gallery from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to share their paintings, sculptures, antiques and more.

“My wife and I own the Art Gallery and we wanted to promote art as well as antiques, so we figured join the two worlds together,” said owner Rich McGregor. “We wanted to bring more business to downtown because it is important to build community, build our town and promote the arts.”

McGregor said this event will hopefully help promote local art and talent.

The fair will run every Saturday through Sept. 30 in the Art Gallery parking lot. Each weekend, there will be sports for 14 vendors.

“I am excited about the fact of bringing more people downtown and getting to share art with our friends in Carson and the Northern Nevada region,” McGregor said.
