1943 ~ 2017



Mary “Betty” Miller passed away peacefully in her home on August 20, 2017, at the age of 74. She was born in Kiowa, Oklahoma in 1943.


She loved, and was fiercely protective of, her children. She enjoyed scary movies and popcorn, gardening, her beloved pitbulls, and oil painting-family members were frequent portrait subjects. She loved cooking, and was renowned for her deviled eggs, potato salad, and decadent deep-dish apple pie.


In addition to being a wonderful mother, Betty worked at many Fallon businesses, including the Pickle Barrel, Prang’s fabric store, Moffitt Animal Clinic, and J&K Llamas Nursery.


Betty was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Sims; step-father, John Richardson; mother, Billie (Hass) Richardson; brother, Frank Sims; sons, Brad Miller, John Miller, and Rich Miller; and nephew Mikey Morin.


Betty is survived by her son Scot Miller and his wife Lori of Houston, TX; daughter, Ashley Delgado and husband Jorge of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law Michelle Miller of Fernley, NV; grandchildren, Brad Ward, Morgan and Sarah Miller, Noah and Jonah Miller, and Richard Delgado; brother, Gene Fitzpatrick and his wife Diane; brother Michael Paul Fleming; sister and brother-in-law, Cora and Gary Cooper; sister Susan Shawgo; brother David Fleming, and numerous nieces and nephews.


A Celebration of Life will be held at Sandwinds Restaurant, 1120 Taylor Pl, Fallon NV. on Sunday, September 17th at 1pm.


Memorial contributions may be sent to the Fallon Animal Shelter.
